News update from Oceans of Night mailing list:
"Howdy family, friends, fiends and other folks.
Well, just about wrapping up the recording for the 2nd Oceans of Night CD, Domain, due out late summer/early fall 2011, and all I can say is... I'm ready to start working on CD#3. I'm actually not kidding as the amount of recorded materials can fill AT LEAST 2.5 CD's, so half the work for the next one is actually semi-complete.
Anyhow, what do we have on DOMAIN? 9 songs, 60+ minutes of the proto-typical Oceans of Night sound: crushingly heavy, melodic, ambient modern metal with progressive and experimental elements abound. Dynamics? Check. Guitar solos? Check. Soaring vocals? check. Flugal horn? Sorry - maybe next time, punks.
Mixing/mastering shall commence immediately, and the mixing chores will be handled by none other than Joey Vera (Armored Saint, Fates Warning, Seven Witches, Engine, and countless other bands/projects) as a new member of the OON collective. As OON is now officially bi-coastal (soon to be, Universal) it just made more sense for me - logistically - to find a studio locally for me to collaborate with, and Joey comes highly recommended.
Well, that's it for now, more to come on the exact track listing and specifics, so that's all for now. Get yourself a new pair of high quality headphones and speakers - you are going to need them.
